Growing up back in the day we used to play knock knock jokes either at recess, in the neighborhood, at church, or some kind of family function. There would be one child telling the joke to multiple children listening and participating. The one telling the joke would say, “Knock, knock” as if they were at an imaginary door and the participating listeners who were supposed to be on the other side of this imaginary door would ask, “Who’s there?”. Then the one telling the joke would say one or two words they had in mind as if those words were knocking at this imaginary door and the listeners would repeat the word(s) back adding the word “who” at the end. Finally, the one telling the joke would respond with some kind of punchline using the word(s) that, again were supposed to be knocking. This punchline would have the listeners either laughing hysterically or saying, “aw that was so corny … lol.”
Let’s look at Jesus for a minute. Jesus is knocking at the door of our hearts but the difference is he is not joking at all. Jesus is love and His love is very serious toward us. Can you hear Him? Knock, Knock…and our heart is asking, “Who’s there?”. Jesus is responding identifying himself as Love, but we are saying back to Him “love who?” And that is the problem, we are not recognizing His love for us or even taking His love for us seriously. God loved us so much that He gave His son to die so we could live an abundant life. Why don’t we recognize His love? Why don’t’ we trust Him? He is standing at the door of our heart knocking continually and faithfully waiting for us to answer. He will stand there and wait and keep knocking until we answer. He is not a thief or burglar so you will never experience any forced entry into your heart. He wants to be invited in to commune with us and have a relationship. Revelation 3:20 says, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
Will you recognize the voice of Love? Will you let Love in?
Now on the other hand, there are some of us who did in fact let Love in. But, He is just in the foyer or main areas of our heart because we are afraid of being hurt again. You see we have let what we thought was love in before, but we were taken advantage of. We were abused physically, mentally, emotionally, verbally, or spiritually. We were neglected, abandoned, molested, and improperly touched in these areas, so we cut all access to the private parts of our heart. I encourage you today not to fear, for there is nothing, absolutely nothing improper about the Savior’s touch. He does not operate in perversion for He is Truth. In fact, His word says, “He is the way the truth and the life.” You can trust Him with everything. You can trust Him with the most private parts of your heart–your entire life. Give Him access to the bedroom and the closets of your heart. Give Him access to the basement, the attic, the tight crawl spaces and tight corners so He can heal you and make you whole. Give Him access so He can make you totally free. He is a safe place, and He will also show you, those around you who are safe for you.
Let’s try this again…”Knock Knock. Who’s there you ask?” The answer is Love. By now you shouldn’t have to ask Love who. Remember true love is knocking and waiting to be invited in. Love will not leave or let go. Love gave everything for us over 2,000 years ago. Love paid a high price. Know that you are valuable and worth every bit of Love’s time.
He is knocking. He is waiting to come in to get to know you and have an intimate relationship with you.
Let Love in today!
PRAYER: Father I thank you. You are true Love and I trust your Love for me. Thank you for knocking at the door of my heart and being patient with me. I let you in today. Thank you for your grace and abounding Love for me. I pray that you will help me to let you all the way into the private places of my heart, for I understand that you are safe, and I recognize that you are for me and not against me. I am wide open for your great Love. Please open my eyes to recognize those around me who also love me and are a safe place. Heal me, wash, me, cleanse me, and make me whole from the inside out. I receive your love and freedom today. In Jesus Christ’s Name I ask and receive these blessings. Amen.

Sister, I am extremely proud of the woman of God that you are! I am praying that God continues to use you, and through you, that other members of the body of Christ be drawn out to serve the Kingdom of God without fear of shame, condemnation, or judgment.
The Bible says in Revelation 12:11 that, “They triumphed over him (satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.”
True love casts out fear, and I am believing God for your continual fearlessness in the Lord! Continue to press forward in your purpose in Him. You are doing a marvelous work for our Father, and your reward will be great in heaven!
Also Sis, thank you for praying over me during one of the darkest seasons in my life. I know that God put it on your heart to reach out to me, and your prayer encouraged me in my spirit, more than you will ever know.
I love you in Christ always! May God continue to bless You, my brother Leonard, and your beautiful children.

Thank you for a great reminder to allow Jesus into the tight places of my heart & knowing that His love is the greatest of all. It’s sometimes hard to love a God that’s not here in the physical with you. When you feel left all alone with the world, trusting Him at His word brings great comfort. Not always easy but looking back helps me to take another step of trust and faith in Him.
